3 Types Of Magick Used By Spellcasters
Magick comes in 3 general varieties: personal, earth and cosmic. Each requires something from the person working with it. Magick has rules and rituals to use correctly, and it can take years to master.
Spell Work Comes In 3 Varieties
First off, I use a ‘-k’ at the end to differentiate spellwork from stage magicians. A card trick may be magic, but channeling a fire spirit is magick.
As for rules, there’s a few to know about:
- There’s always a trade-off: What you take, you must give equally
- You cannot do harm: If you do, pain will return to you (or something you love) 3 times worse
- The universe can override your request if it has something else planned for you
- You must be clear with your request. Otherwise, your request gets garbled and may not return what you asked for
In some cases, you perform rituals to get magick to work. This is a broad subject to tackle, so here’s a few tips:
- Personal rituals are something you can do to help with your spell. Make them reflect what you feel and imagine will work.
- Earth rituals should reflect the elements you invoke, so you may need to make representations of each element.
- Cosmic rituals open up dark dimensions and most need to be followed to the letter. Or something horrible will happen to you or someone close to you.
Personal Magick
Most spellcasters use personal magick. It’s powered by your own thoughts and feelings. That makes you responsible for its effects. If you’re angry or have negative feelings, you get a bad result. If you’re happy and doing something good for others, you get a positive result.
With personal magick, you almost seem psychic. You can see auras, predict the future or heal people. You’ll also attract what you feel or think. So, keep it positive. You don’t want bad mojo coming your way!
So, if you need money, don’t think use magick to get a quick million bucks. The trade-off could be jail time! Focus on finding a good job that pays well.
You still have to work to get your spells to work.
Earth Magick
With earth magick, the spellcaster invokes Mother Nature. It requires the use or symbols of the 4 elements: earth, air, water, and fire. These elements will help the spellcaster perform a task.
Be careful what you ask for because the elements can be a tough to control if your intentions aren’t very clear. Know what kind of help you want. Otherwise, fire may take some liberties!
In other cases, you might want to work with animals. Offerings through a ritual usually help entice these spirits to assist. Remember, animal spirits tend to do want they want to, so be specific. And never harm an animal unless you absolutely have to. The animal spirits can see your history with other critters. If you hurt an animal, expect these spirits to get payback ASAP.
Cosmic Magick
Cosmic magick is the most dangerous type. When you use it, you reach out to the other side of the Veil. Something is listening and can grant your request. It can also trick you. But their tricks are always painful. This is a trade-off you don’t want to make.
These entities are not human. They don’t have a conscience like you do, so they don’t understand empathy the way we do. It lets them do things we think are sinister.
The trade-offs can be horrible when you use cosmic magick. For example, you may perform a ritual to stop a horrible forest fire. But the entity you communed with may send a fire to destroy the apartment building down your street to pay for it. That’s the deals we’re talking about here.
The safest route for spellcasters is personal magick, one you can control.
